Engagement of services
Paid engagements are governed by the individual contract signed at the start of the project. These website terms do not override project-specific contracts.
Pay Monthly Websites
A Pay Monthly Website is a rental. While you are on the plan, we build, host and look after your website. These are the terms that apply to it, in plain English.
What is yours and what is ours
Your domain, the content and photos you supply, and your Google Business Profile are always yours. By content you supply, we mean your own words, photos and logo.
While you rent the site, the code, the content we wrote and images we created stay ours, and stock images stay licensed to us. We license them to you for use on your website for as long as you are on the plan.
Buying the site out
You can buy the site out at any time for £550. On the websites for new businesses offer, the buy-out is £750 during the first 12-month term. Once you have paid, the site, its code and the content we wrote for it become yours. Stock images stay covered by their licence for use on that site.
Cancelling
There is no minimum term. You can cancel with 30 days' notice. If you cancel with notice, your account is paid up and you do not buy the site out, we will help you move your email and domain, then switch off the website and any email we host for you at the end of your notice period. Your domain, the content and photos you supply, and your Google Business Profile stay yours.
New businesses: the first 12 months
On the websites for new businesses offer, the first 12 months are a fixed term. If you leave during it, the rest of your first-year payments are still due, or you can buy the site out for £750 instead. After the first 12 months, the plan runs month to month with 30 days' notice.
Late payment
If a payment is not received within 30 days of its due date, we may switch off the website, and any email we host for you, until it is paid. If a payment is still unpaid 60 days after its due date, we may close the account and delete the website and any email we host for you, without helping you move them. Your domain stays yours: we will give you its transfer code if you ask.
Price changes
We may increase monthly prices to reflect inflation or increases in our own costs. We will never do this during your first 12 months on a plan, and we will always give you at least 30 days' written notice before a new price applies.
Each Pay Monthly Website includes one email mailbox with 1 GB of storage at no extra cost. A 5 GB mailbox is £19.99 a year.
VAT
No VAT to add. The price you see is the price you pay.
Offers
These offers are for new customers who sign up before they close. Neither offer can be combined with the other.
Trades: 35% off
For businesses whose main work is a trade, such as plumbing, heating, electrical, building or vehicle repair. You get 35% off the Pay Monthly Website setup fee (£194 instead of £299) and off one-off builds. The monthly plans are not discounted and stay at the standard price. The offer closes at the end of 31 December 2026. It cannot be combined with the websites for new businesses offer, the 20% discount for registered charities or any other discount.
Websites for new businesses
For businesses in their first year of trading, or opening within the next six months. The offer is limited to 10 new businesses and closes at the end of 31 December 2026, or sooner if all 10 places are taken. It cannot be combined with the trades offer.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stuffed Monkey Web Design's liability arising from your use of this website is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
