Your website, quietly looked after.
Websites need maintaining. Software updates, security patches, backups, the odd content change. Our care plans handle all of it for Hertfordshire businesses, so you can get on with running yours.
These plans are for sites we did not build: the ones someone else made and then walked away from. If you would rather we built the site and then ran hosting, local SEO and Google Business Profile too, that is the All-In Plan, which starts at £129 a month. Both care plans below sit below that, because you already own a working site and just need it looked after.
Plans
Essentials
£75/mo
- Software & plugin updates
- Daily backups
- Uptime monitoring
- Security hardening
- Monthly report
Proactive
£125/mo
- Everything in Essentials
- Monthly content & design updates
- Core Web Vitals monitoring
- SEO health check & tweaks
- Priority same-day response
Need more than that, like dedicated development hours each month, a strategy call or ongoing AI-search work? That is really a managed-growth job rather than maintenance, and the All-In Plan tiers are built for it. We will point you there rather than inflate a care plan.
What website maintenance actually covers
"Maintenance" sounds vague, so here is the concrete version. Every plan keeps four things under control that decide whether your site stays an asset or turns into a liability.
- Updates. WordPress core, plugins, themes and dependencies go out of date constantly, and outdated software is the single most common way a small-business site gets hacked. We apply updates on a schedule and test that nothing breaks, rather than leaving you one click away from taking the site down yourself.
- Backups. Daily off-site backups you can actually restore from, not the "we think the host has something" answer that turns a bad morning into a lost week. We test restores, because a backup you have never restored is a hope, not a backup.
- Security. Hardening, monitoring and malware scanning, plus a plan for when something does get through. Most compromises we clean up were preventable, and the clean-up costs far more than the plan would have.
- Uptime and performance. If the site goes down or slows to a crawl, we want to know before your customers do. Monitoring flags it; on the higher tiers we keep an eye on Core Web Vitals so the speed you paid for at launch does not erode.
On the Proactive plan you also get a pool of hours each month for the real-world changes every business needs: a new team member on the About page, a seasonal offer, a price update, a landing page for a campaign. It is the difference between a site that keeps pace with your business and one that slowly stops reflecting it.
What a neglected website costs you
Nearly every care-plan client we take on arrives the same way: a site built a few years ago by someone who has since moved on, running plugins two major versions behind, no backups anyone can find, and a contact form that stopped emailing months ago without anyone noticing. Nothing looked wrong until it did. A neglected site does not announce its decline; it just loses enquiries, drops down Google, and one day either breaks or gets defaced. Ongoing maintenance is cheap insurance against an expensive, badly timed emergency.
Some businesses cannot afford any downtime at all. A firm like Home Comfort Assured, which runs 24/7 emergency plumbing across Watford and the surrounding WD postcodes, depends on its site and its click-to-call working at two in the morning as reliably as at two in the afternoon. That is exactly the kind of always-on business a proper maintenance plan exists for: the value is not in the features, it is in the fact that nothing goes wrong at the worst possible moment.
Maintenance across Hertfordshire
We look after sites for businesses right across the county, from Watford and St Albans to Hemel Hempstead, Hertford and the smaller towns in between. Because we are a Hertfordshire studio rather than a distant support desk, you can get us on the phone, meet in person if it helps, and deal with the same person each time rather than re-explaining your setup to a new agent. Pick your town from the list below to see how we work locally, or read more about our local SEO if you want the site kept found as well as kept running.
What is in your monthly report
Every plan includes a monthly report, and it is written to be read, not to bury you in numbers. It covers what we updated and why, any security or uptime events and how we handled them, how the site performed against its Core Web Vitals, and, on the Proactive plan, what we changed on the site that month and what we would suggest doing next. The point is that you are never left wondering whether anything is actually happening. If a plugin update needed care, an attack was blocked, or the homepage slowed down and we fixed it, it is all there in plain English.
Security: what we actually do
Security is the part of maintenance nobody thinks about until it is too late. On every plan we harden the site, keep everything patched, monitor for malware and suspicious activity, and take daily off-site backups we have actually tested restoring from. If the worst happens and a site is compromised, having clean backups and a maintainer who knows the setup turns a potential disaster into an afternoon. The businesses that end up paying thousands to recover a hacked site are almost always the ones who were saving a few pounds a month by not maintaining it.
Moving an existing site to us
Most of our care-plan clients arrive with a site someone else built and then abandoned. Taking it on is straightforward: we audit what you have, fix the urgent security and performance problems first, document how it is put together so there is no single point of failure, and then keep it healthy from there. You do not need to rebuild to get it looked after, and you are never locked in. If you ever leave, the site and its data go with you.
Do you even need a plan?
Not necessarily, and we would rather tell you that than sell you something you will not use. If your site changes rarely and you are confident it is being backed up and updated somewhere, pay-as-you-go in 30-minute blocks may be all you need. A plan earns its place when the cost of the site being down, hacked or out of date is higher than the monthly fee, which for most businesses that take enquiries or sales through their site, it quickly is. The Essentials plan exists precisely so that basic protection is not a decision you have to keep making.
Care plans or the All-In Plan?
Two ways to work with us, depending on how you want to buy. Pick whichever fits.
Care plans
You own your website outright, and we keep it running: hosting, updates, security and the odd improvement, on one of the monthly plans above. It suits businesses that already have a site, or bought a one-off build from us, and just want it looked after.
You own the site; we maintain it.
The All-In Plan
We build the site and then run the whole thing for one monthly fee: hosting, local SEO, Google Business Profile, missed-call text-back and reporting. It suits businesses that would rather not manage any of it and want everything under one roof.
We build it and run it for a monthly fee. See the All-In Plan →

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to buy a care plan?
No. Care plans are optional. If you prefer pay-as-you-go, we bill in 30-minute blocks with full transparency, and you only pay when you actually need something done.
Can you maintain a site you did not build?
Yes. Most of our care-plan clients came to us with a site someone else built, often a WordPress site that had been left to drift. We audit what you have, fix the urgent security and performance issues first, then keep it healthy from there.
Do you host the site too?
Optionally. We offer managed hosting on fast UK and EU infrastructure with daily backups, SSL, staging environments and uptime monitoring, or we can work with your existing host if you would rather not move.
Can I switch or cancel plans?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade any month, with no minimum term. If you leave, the site and its data are yours.
What is your response time?
Essentials: next working day. Proactive: priority same-day response. Either way, you are emailing the person who does the work, not a ticket queue. Anything needing a guaranteed SLA or a block of dedicated hours is a better fit for one of the All-In Plan tiers.
